Microwave Desserts
The idea that you can only prepare savory dishes in a microwave is a myth. My first microwave cookbook, Cooking With Mic, was all about savory dishes. My new book Desserts with Mic features some of the worlds best microwave desserts. Until I began to research the subject I had no idea how many dishes you could prepare in a microwave. Cookies, cakes, pie and candies are all possible with the add of your microwave. Today let’s look at two video tutorials on microwave desserts.
The first microwave dessert we will check out will be sponge cake. I watched an episode of Cutthroat kitchen and a world class chef used the microwave and a sponge cake recipe to win the show.
The next recipe that I would like to look at is one of my favorites and has become a go to recipe. I love chocolate Chip cookies. The recipe in my book is different, but this one is great too. Ingredients:
-1 tablespoon of melted butter
-1 tablespoon of brown sugar
-1 tablespoon of white sugar -a little bit less than 1/4 cup of flour
-2 tablespoons of chocolate chips
-pinch of salt
-1 egg yolk -3 drops of vanilla extract
-microwaveable container/cup
